Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
Pick a pair up at a garage sale so I can't return them. The tread showed very little to no wear so for all purposes they were new boots. For comfort and traction I had found my boot! I was a little concerned the tread seemed to be wearing down quickly but figure at least 5 good years out of them. That was until I discovered a torn sole after an easy dayhike. A crack in the midlayer of the other boot indicates it is close behind if I continue to wear them. An email to Vasque went unanswered so they don't care about customer service. Time for me to find other boots.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I returned the Keens I had prior to this pair because they didn't last long under any load. I've only used these a handful of times, but they seem very durable and I feel confident wearing them on very steep terrain and in low water sources. I've taken them around the Black Hills near Olympia, WA and they served me well. They are definitely stiff, but I think they are still in the process of breaking in. There is also a little more room than I would prefer, but it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the boots.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
These boots were nice at first waterproof and what seamed to be durable. I went ahead and bought these because of the brand (I have had great luck with other boots from Vasque) but disregarded the other reviews that said the tread would crack and come apart to soon. Much to my dismay that is exactly what happened to my pair after not so many miles in the rocks and some easy duty on the sales floor. So if you are after a real hiking boot look elsewhere.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I bought these for a backpacking trip. Other than some blisters, they fit well. Stepping on rocks, however, was like a trip across the ice. I fell twice because I stepped on flat rocks on the trail and my foot came right out from under me. For this reason I never wore them backpacking again. Now I just wear them in town on wet days or for local day hikes. The waterproofing is phenomenal. Never got wet despite wading nearly to their tops. But after just a couple of years of light use the soles have had a complete meltdown. They both broke completely across the balls of both feet. On one the sole then completely separated forward of the break. The boots have had such light use that if I brush them off you wouldn't think I had had them for a year yet. I'm taking them back and won't get another pair.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
After one 8 mile day hike and some daily wear, Im very happy with the boots. These boots were easy to walk in than others that I tried because the soles allow a little bit of heel to toe rolling action, where the others felt very flat which led to a harsher contact in the forefoot. Also very nice on rough rocks as well as in mud.

I've had these boots for two years and I've typically hiked about 10 miles per weekend in them. I also wear them casually during the week. I live in southern Arizona and the hiking around here is dry, sandy, rocky, and hot in summer. The boots have also taken me on a hike down into the Grand Canyon.
These are the best boots I've ever had. They required no break-in at all and are incredibly comfortable. They still grip well on rocks even after two years of constant use. I'm so pleased with them that I've just bought another pair in case Vasque changes the model.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I have over 450 miles on these boots over the last year (through rain, snow, mud and desert) and they are still going strong. The bottoms show wear, but still grip and I feel these boots are a well made boot.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I bought the Vasque Wasatch for a 10 day hiking trip I'll be taking. Overall these are very good boots which is confirmed by the number of people in our crew that use them. These boots fit well and are very comfortable - an excellent boot for the money. The only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars was that I needed to exchange the first pair. The lining on the inside of the boots wasn't attached well in the toe box and would end up separating from the leather and rubbing the top of my toes. REI exchanged them no questions of course, and I am heppy with the second pair.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I am a long time buyer of Vasque this is my second pair of this same model boot. However, unlike my first one that lasted over two years, this only last a season. See picture att. I only use it for hiking and Backpacking. It has poor traction in rainy weather. I found out the hard way on Mount Monadnock. I was slipping everywhere. Needles to say, I will not be buying another pair. The only good thing I can say is that it is water proof, used it crossing Lye Brook in VT.

Comments about Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I bought a pair of these to replace my Keen Pyrenees. I found the toe box to be to large and the boots felt weird. These boots heat up fast and the Gore-Tex does not keep up on venting. This was the deal breaker for me. The boots were well built and seemed to be of real quality, but I could not see wearing boots that made my feet sweat after a short walk around my neighborhood block. I wound up going with the Keen Glarius and am happy I made the swap.
I think Keen Dry is better than Gore-tex
