Vasque Wasatch GTX Hiking Boots - Men'sis rated3.8254out of5by63.
Rated4out of5byfromgreat distance/weight carryOverall, very good boot. Supports the ankle well with out pinching the top of the foot when walking up hill. The toe box has plenty of room for my toes to swell and run downhill without jamming them. The tongue on my right boot doesn't like to sit flat and wants to slide to one side. I have had them for almost a month now with about 50 miles on them. No blisters but they are just now starting to feel broke-in. Traction seems rather good, but i haven't had the opportunity to test it in snow mud or water. It does run a bit warm on my feet. I would say this boot will excel with more weight on them and have your feet feeling fine after long distance in them.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat Shoesbought these shoes two weeks prior to my planned 6 day backpacking trip in SE Utah. Great shoes overall unfortunately i must've tied the shoes too tight around the ankles and developed a tender spot on top of my right ankle, bad enough that I couldn't tie past the Talus area. Front that day forward I tried to manage the rest of my trip with my approach shoes. I'm looking to return them and trade them in for a softer shoes.

Rated4out of5byfromGood Boot, Buying 2nd PairI bought these boots after using both Salomon and Asolo boots as well as Merrel and Brooks runners. All reviews indicated the toe box was narrow and boots were uncomfortable. Initially the boots were tight around the toe box and I had significant blistering in the heels and toes even with treatment. I kept wearing them because they gave great support with 40lb packs and had the best traction I had ever had with any boot/shoe. After about 50 miles of wear I decided to change how I laced and went from a heavy to a midweight sock and suddenly the boots fit perfectly. No blisters, no hot spots, no pain and all the benefits mentioned earlier. I've had the boots since 2008; they have close to 700 miles on them (almost all New England mountains - granite) and the soles could still go another 250 miles or so. The first set of laces shredded mid-trip after 2 seasons and the waterproofing was useless after 3 seasons and I could not get anything to "re-proof" them, which was disappointing but otherwise they were abused and held up. Getting second pair to replace the first as this season, while on an 80 mile excursion, the uppers were cut up due to rough treatment in the North Cascades and the toe box has started to come away from the shoe. These are very good boots that exceeded expections and outperformed other boots at similar, or higher, prices.

Rated5out of5byfromOutstanding BootNaturally with all boots you do want to wear them prior to a long heavy backpack trip; but they felt very comfortable from the moment I put them on. I have bought these boots twice now. They are one hundred per cent waterproof. I have gone out on multiple days with very wet weather and feet were very dry.

Rated5out of5byfromVasque Wasatch GTX Hiking BootsI walked on very rough, uneven rocky, ankle twisting trails. I climbed boulders and sloshed through meadows. The shoe was perfect. My foot never slipped. My tired feet didn't complain when I put my shoes on in the morning, instead they said "thank you."

Rated4out of5byfromVery durable shoeI've owned this pair of boots for +6 years and while I love them, they don't always love me. These boots are extremely durable and show little wear considering how long I've owned them and what I've put them through. The laces allow for great ankle support and the padding inside the boot is comfortable. The sole is thick and tough and will roll over any terrain without wearing out your foot. My one problem with these boots is that even after 6 years I still get HORRIBLE blisters on my right heel after every hiking trip. The heal cup on the boots cut in right around the Achilles tendon and cause the boot to rub the top bony part of by heel badly. I've never had this problem with any previous boots. As long as I properly prepare by feet before long hikes these boots give me no problems.

Rated5out of5byfromInstant FriendsI foolishly waited until the last possible moment to pick up these boots, before heading off to a week of back-country hiking in the North Cascades. Part of my delay was in trying to decide on lightweight or these boots. In the end, because of my late decision and thus inability to break them in I figured I would deserve any blisters that developed. Thankfully these boots were incredibly comfortable, well fitting, and I wound up blister free despite heavy use right out of the box. The fit/size was true to size and very comfortable. We had rain for several days in a row and throughout my feet were warm and dry (gaiters were a good choice as well). I love these boots and have since regularly used them for both day and overnight hikes. I am, however, having to learn to actually pick up my feet as I adjust to a heavier boot. Trekking poles help tremendously to keep me upright despite my periodic slips and trips. Stock waterproofing works well, even with near full (accidental) immersion.

Rated4out of5byfromNew BootsThis is my 3rd pair of boots and I have good vibes from this one. I had to get a full size larger than I thought I should but so far so good. Haven't been able to really test like I would be my wife and I are going to Hawaii in October and that will really tell me if these are "it".
