The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated2out of5byatimberwolffromAfter 3 Months We're Giving UpWe've had the collar for nearly 3 months and are now faced with replacing the battery again (third time). Each battery has lasted us about 3 weeks. The collar is set to flashing for about 5 minutes 3 or 4 times a night and again for one trip out each morning as our dog goes out to do his business. In total that is getting us about 9 or so hours of battery life. Not even close to what is advertised. In fairness the collar does still light up, but visibilty is measured in inches not feet after a couple of weeks of use. In my mind if I can't see the dog at 20 feet in the dark, the collar is useless.
Like other users our collar will not stay adjusted to the size of the dog's neck and every couple of days needs tightened back up. A nuisance but not a deal breaker; unlike the battery life.

Rated3out of5bychilly-willyfromGood but Not GreatThe collar does what it is truely intended to do...keep your dog visible in the dark. The collar LED works well in both the solid and blinking mode and provides more than enough light to be able to see your dog in the dark.
The collar is also well constructed, but I cannot keep the collar tight. Everytime I adjust the buckle, it will come loose on its own. I think a different buckle that provides more friction would solve this and make the collar a real winner.

Rated1out of5bywwright38fromExtremely Poor ExperienceI've had this collar about two weeks and it is pretty much useless. My dog has worn it about an hour and half over 10 night and the light has faded to where there is no point in even having it on. I will soon be moving to a beacon or some kind of lamp to attach to the colalr. I've noticed others having much better luck with a beacon.

Great idea, but very very poor design and quality.

Rated1out of5byCamoEvofromWaste of $Housing unit that holds battery/light fell out, nothing holds it in. Zip tie fixed that, but the collar doesn't stay where I adjust the fit, and a zip tie can't fix that. My Pitbull is too strong!

Rated5out of5byAKDuckiefromMost durable night-safety dog accessoryTL;DR: After trying many products that were not durable enough for our 45 pound hound, this has lasted around a year and we LOVE it. Listed as versatile because we can also easily re-size it to put it on our growing puppy when she is let off leash in the neighborhood.
Living year round in Alaska means having lots of gear. Because my super active hound enjoys hiking and running off leash, I felt it necessary to get him some sort of light so we could either spot him in the woods, or so cars could spot him while running along the road.
I tried several different products, starting with the inexpensive lights that hang from the D-ring on the normal collar. Those would not be visible when my pup was facing certain directions, and they would die after several weeks of use (the battery was not the problem). We then tried a product that Velcro-ed on to his normal collar so that he would be more visible. The retro-reflective stuff wore off within a month or so, and the light took a beating by his romping in the woods and it quit working.
We switched to this collar (as a secondary collar to his normal cycle-dog one which is also awesome), and absolutely love how visible he is from all directions. Even after splashing in ponds and lakes (and snow) it has kept glowing, and the collar has no significant damage. Battery changing is easy. Over the past year we have put it on our puppy as she has grown up and it worked very well on her too.
HIGHLY recommended. Will be buying another one for the pup as soon as she's ready to run off leash too!
