Comments about McNett MiraZyme Odor Eliminator:
I used about 1/2 oz of Mirazyme in a full bath tub of water on my Kelty tent rain fly which only had a mild smell. I was hoping to eliminate that smell. What happened looks like it ate away at the weather proof coating on the fly. It was the original fly and never treated with after market protection. After a couple minutes of soaking it looks like your skin does when you peel after a sunburn. It's a slight brownish color and rolls up like peeling skin. It appears to be the weather proofing coming off. This is a very unfortunate thing to happen. I loved my Kelty tent and not it's almost ruined unless I buy a new rain fly. thank goodness I only did the fly and not the tent too! I would say to be VERY careful when using this product.

Tried one ounce (half bottle) in the bathtub with my '80s vintage Lowe pack. The pack still stinks from the degraded coating that is flaking off the Codura.
I might try a whole bottle to save this pack.

Used it on a great 20 year old tent that had a moldy smell. Washed and dried tent and fly as directed and the funk is gone! Simple and effective.

Comments about McNett MiraZyme Odor Eliminator:
Thirty years ago I invested in a large (7 person) high quality nylon tent which was state of the art at the time. It served us well through the "family campground years" but got put away as our needs changed. Time to take a new generation camping. I took it out and it smelled beyond awful. Impossible. Like a dead animal or worse. I asked at REI about washing it and was directed to this product. The directions call for submerging the tent in a solution of this stuff in water for 5 minutes, then air dry. I used the bathtub. Getting this 7-person tent submerged in the bathtub took more water than you might expect. The directions call for .5 ounce in 20 gallons of water, or one ounce in one gallon if the smell is really bad. That's a wide difference. I used 3 2-ounce bottles in the bathtub with about 20 gallons of water, then another bottle when I realized I had forgotten to do the fly. I don't know if that much was needed or not. Getting the tent out and hung to dry was a challenge but so worth it. I cannot believe how well this worked!
Service and delivery comments:
Came faster than projected. three days.

I don't know why my son's soccer shin guards get so darn smelly. I used to have to buy him new shin guards every other month or so because the stink got so bad. Then I tried this product (put into a spray bottle) and the problem was solved. It works like a dream! I think it must be the enzymes that make it so effective. No more buying 5 or 6 sets of shin guards every year!

Comments about McNett MiraZyme Odor Eliminator:
I had a tent that I let a friend borrow and it was inadvertently put away wet. When I pulled it out for a trip, the smell was so bad that I left it behind.
After contacting the tent manufacturer, and trying three different methods, nothing worked. I was on the verge of tossing the tent and then I read about this stuff. I followed the included directions, and it worked perfectly. I am pretty jazzed that McNett saved my tent from the dumpster!

I bought this stuff to help resurrect a 30 year old Jansport Trail Dome tent that had spent 10 years stuffed tightly in it's stuff sack. (I know not a good practice, but I learn slow!)
This stuff rocks! Simply put 2 ounces of MiraZyme in a laundry sink full of water, submerge the tent (something of a challange, but achieveable) let it soak for a bit, then hang where it can drip dry, and voila! It was like a new tent! I've since used it to breath new life (and fresh smells) into a variety of gear, and have never been disappointed.
If I had a con about this it would be that my local REI (the flagship store) seems only to carry the small size container of it.

This product smelled ok, but it really did not eliminate the odor. I have ordered a product called What Odor? recommended by a friend. She uses it and says it works great!
