    Rated4out of5byfromGreat MealI'm also surprised at how contrary the reviews for this meal have been. Personally, I love it! Being a recently converted vegetarian, I'm always looking for nutritious meals, especially those high in protein. This meal was filing and tasty in my opinion and a definite purchase for my next trip. I can't say the meal is particularly salty or overly spicy, as others have mentioned. I particularly like curry dishes for the taste, but also the health benefits from turmeric, which is the primary spice in curry. Google it! In fact, I add turmeric to many dishes I eat, including this one. I tend to make most of my freeze-dried meals in a medium pot from my cook kit versus in the bag. I put in less water than is called for most every freeze-dried meal, and then add more if needed. I then let the meal stand for longer than recommended. By taking the aforementioned steps; it generally makes for better reconstituting and easier mixing of the ingredients. As far as high sodium content, that seems to be an unfortunate component of most freeze-dried meals from my experience.

    Rated4out of5byfromAn outback favoriteWhoa! I've never seen such a divergence of opinion. But then nothing is more subjective than what tastes good. For me, this a go-to meal when I'm out in the bush. I'm a vegan and a low fat dieter, both of which make it tough to find suitable freeze-dried fare. Katmandu Curry is tasty, nutritious and calorie dense. I eat the entire pouch which contains lentils, brown rice, carrots, peas, potatoes and spices. Those who called it unhealthy might benefit from reading up on nutrition in the 21st Century. As for the comments regarding too much fiber - I have a sensitive gut on top of everything else and Katmandu Curry passes through perfectly. If you like lentils and brown rice; and you like spicy, you will probably like this item. Thanks, Backpacker's Pantry. Give us some more fare like this!

    Rated4out of5byfromEnjoyed the MealPeople seem to be really divided on this meal. For my part, my son and I thought it was very tasty. The vegetables re-hydrated effectively and the spices were complimentary. We paired this meal with some lemon rice. What we didn't eat at supper, we saved for breakfast and reheated it with some eggs. Neither of us had any trouble with the meal's high fibre.

    Rated5out of5byfromSpicy, Filling and DeliciousI love curry, so I thought I'd give this one a try and I'm glad I did. Perfect kick to it, and super filling. I love all of the vegetables - peas, carrots and potatoes that you can actually see and taste with every bite. And, all of the lentils are an awesome source of protein. I'm vegetarian, so this dish is definitely a regular go-to for me.
