Creating a Gift Registry

Online:

  • Go to the Create a New Registry page.
  • Enter your info in a few easy steps, and then you're ready to shop!
  • Browse the site to find products you love. Add each item to your registry using the orange "Add to Registry" button located on every product page.
  • We'll save your list automatically as you build it.

In Stores or by Phone:

Just visit the customer service desk and we'll get you started. You can also create a registry over the phone (1-800-426-4840).

By Fax or Mail:

You can fill out a PDF application form and send it to us via fax or U.S. mail. To do so, follow these instructions:

  1. Download the gift registry application form (PDF). If you don't have a PDF reader, you can download the software from the Adobe site.
  2. Print and fill out the application form. Please include all required information. Important: You'll need an e-mail account in order to open a gift registry.
  3. Fax or mail the form to REI

When we receive your form, we'll set up your gift registry and send you an e-mail containing the information you'll need to log in. We'll contact you if we have questions or require additional information.

Adding Products to Your Gift Registry List

  • Create a gift registry, if you don’t already have one. If you already have a gift registry, just log in to make updates to your list.
  • After you log in, you can view and manage your list, and go shopping for new gifts.

Editing Your Gift Registry

  • Log in. Then, you can choose from a wide range of registry-management options.
  • Note: You can also call us at 1-800-426-4840 or visit any REI retail store and we can help you edit your gift registry.

Q. What should I do if I forget my gift registry password?

A. Remember, your gift registry password is the same as the password you created for REI.com. If you remember that one, you’re good to go! Can’t remember that password? No worries—we can send you a reminder.

Q. If I already have an REI.com Account, do I need to create another password for REI Gift Registry?

A. No, you can log in with the e-mail address/username and password you already created to access Your Account on REI.com.

Q. What does it mean when a product is available "in-store only"?

A. This means that the item is not available for purchase online, but may be available at an REI store. On any product page, click the “find in store” button to check an item's availability.

Q. Can I create a gift registry over the phone or in the store?

A. Yes. Just call 1-800-426-4840 or visit the customer service desk at any REI retail store nationwide and we'll help you create a registry you'll love.

Q. Can I open a gift registry for someone else?

A. Of course! Feel free to create a registry for a son, daughter, spouse, or anyone you know who has a special event on the horizon such as a birthday or anniversary.

Q. As a member who set up a gift registry, do the purchases from that registry go toward my dividend, or the purchaser’s?

A. Dividend credit is earned by the purchaser, unless the member purchasing the item requests to have them credited to the registrant’s membership at the time of purchase. This can be done by phone or by emailing Member Services.

Q. Should I avoid choosing seasonal or clearance items for my registry?

A. If your event is months away, we suggest you avoid choosing seasonal or clearance items that may not be in stock in the future.

Q. Why can't I find the "Add to Registry" links to click on product pages?

A. You must be logged in to your REI Online account before the “Add to Registry” links will appear on product pages.

Q. What is WeddingChannel.com?

Is gift boxing available for Gift Registry items?

Yes. At Checkout, just indicate that you are sending items as gifts. You'll then be able to choose among several gift-delivery options, including gift boxing and adding a personalized note.
