Willow River State Park Campground
Willow Falls and a quality campground will surprise visitors at this Twin Cities getaway. With its close proximity to the Twin Cities, you might expect Willow River State Park to be kind of beat-up and overused. Quite the contrary. I found over 3,000 acres of well-preserved land here in St. Croix County, with a great campground set on the shores of a large yet quiet lake. Sure, this park can get busy, but dedicated park staffers keep it in good shape. So whether you are into waterfall viewing, swimming, hiking, fishing, or canoeing, head this way, grab your private campsite, and be as surprised as I was.
