Big Bay State Park Campground
Bayfield, WI

Big Bay State Park Campground
Big Bay offers you a chance to camp in the famed Apostle Islands. The biggest of the Apostle Island Chain (and the only one not under the protection of the National Park), Madeline Island is also the only one inhabited year-round. During the winter, the island boasts a population of about 250; this swells to over 2,000 in the summer. To reach the island and the 2,500-acre Big Bay State Park, you must take a pay ferry, but the extra expense and trouble is worth it.
