R. D. Bailey Lake Campground
The attractive campground is large, and an open campsite is guaranteed. This way you can focus on enjoying the scenic lake tucked away in the mountains of Wyoming and Mingo Counties. Each loop has a playground area for kids and horseshoe pits. Cyclists will enjoy the quiet paved roads of the large campground. There are volleyball and basketball courts near the campground boat ramp. Most recreation, however, centers on the lake. And a scenic lake it is: cliffs line the dammed section of the Guyandotte which makes a serpentine course toward the impressive dam. Swimmers enjoy both the lake and the river. Ski boats and personal watercraft tour the narrow impoundment. If you don’t have a boat, they are available at the Guyandotte Point Boat Ramp and Marina. Bank fishermen can easily toss a line in here. Anglers vie for bass, bream, crappie and catfish on the banks or by boat. Solitude seekers can find their own slice of the 630 water acres and 17 miles of shoreline at R.D.Bailey Lake.
