Tannersville Cranberry Bog
A walk on the floating boardwalk through the Tannersville Cranberry Bog should not be missed. It is a fascinating place, a relic of the last glacial period over 13,000 years ago and a unique habitat for unusual plant and animal life. There are smaller bogs at higher elevations, but the Tannersville Bog, at 150 acres, is the largest in Pennsylvania. Interesting features: Unspoiled glacial bog, the southernmost low altitude boreal bog along the eastern seaboard. Surface: Boardwalk and woodland trails.
