Table Rock, Appalachian Trail
A name like Table Rock makes you expect a massive level slab of stone. Large yes, level no. Table Rock is a substantial piece of conglomerate measuring 20 by 35 feet, with the long axis pitched down so that the slab sits nearly vertical. Photographically speaking, the view is OK. It is best suited for fall, as the middle ground is dominated by the flank of Third Mountain, sitting just 1.5 miles across the narrow valley of Clark’s Creek.
