Hunters Ridge Trail
The Hunters Ridge Trail is the longest and most difficult at Chapman State Park. Together with the Warming Hut Trail, an enjoyable 3mile loop is formed. Access roads to oil wells cross the trail at numerous junctures; make sure to stay on the trail. From the park office, hike up the dirt forestry road for a short distance. Bear right and enter a pine plantation. Hike up through rows of trees and pass through a meadow. Enter a grove of hemlocks and spruce, and then hike through another meadow. Highlights: Pine plantation, hemlocks, Adams Run, Chapman Lake, a few boulders.
