It is a semiarid country that has a lot to offer visitors. This ride through beautiful forests, past brilliant lakes, and up to the base of spectacular Mount Bachelor is highly recommended. The route is the nicest part of the Sunnyside Century, a late-summer ride sponsored since 1971 by the Alpenglow Bicycle Club of Bend, Oregon. Begin your trip at the Sunriver Village resort, which avoids the heavy traffic of Highway 97. Terrain: some flat, some rolling hills, and a few major climbs. Roads are in good condition, with generally light traffic.
