Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge

This route passes through the expanse of Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge in Southeast Portland and is filled with a variety of bird life, including blue herons, Canada geese, and mallard ducks. You may also see beavers, muskrats, and nutrias. Black cottonwood, dogwood, and elderberry provide welcoming shade as you hike, and huge thickets of blackberries provide a tasty treat in mid to late August.
