Taking advantage of gravel roads for most of the climbing, this ride takes you out and up to a ridge just below the Blue Ridge Parkway. You'll return on the fairly technical single track of the Spencer Branch Trail. The ride surface is 4.2 miles of single track and 3.8 miles of forest road. Highlights include creek crossings, mud bogs, spotty views, short steep climbs, and a short steep technical downhill.
