Inwood Hill Park Trail
New York, NY

Inwood Hill Park Trail
Covering 196 acres at the northernmost tip of Manhattan, Inwood Hill Park is the only natural park on the island. The area’s rich settlement history includes Dutch colonist Peter Minuit, who bought tracts here in 1626 from the Lenape Indians, and the large estates once present on these sites, courtesy of the Lord family of Lord & Taylor department store fame. Today, Inwood Hill Park offers an easily accessible, scenic, and historically interesting hike. Moderately steep slopes provide a challenge for the dog and hiker seeking a bit of exercise as well as relief from the busy streets below.
