Ridge Runner Trail
If you like challenging mountain biking in a wilderness area, you'll love the Ridge Runner Trail. Divided into two loops, the Noblett Loop to the north and the North Fork Loop to the south, this entire 38-mile trail is narrow single-track and abandoned logging roads. Long climbs are followed by fast, cooling descents. Stream crossings on the Noblett Loop make that ride bearable on hot summer days. Because there are steep and technical sections scattered throughout the trail, the Ridge Runner is not recommended for beginners. All riders should occasionally expect to portage their bikes, especially on the more difficult Noblett Loop of the Ridge Runner, where parts of the climbs are too rugged to ride and the stream crossings can be waist-deep. This trail is located 18 miles west of West Plains.
