Shawme - Crowell State Forest
Once part of a much larger coastal landscape that emerged from a series of devastating fires in the early twentieth century, this mix of oak and pine forest and modest hillsides now features almost 300 campsites on 700 acres. One of the most popular campgrounds on Cape Cod, it’s located within easy driving distance of local beaches, including Scusset Beach State Reservation, situated on the corner of land just north of the Cape Cod Canal (parking fees at the state reservation are included in your Shawme-Crowell camping permit).
