Gambrill State Park
Gambrill State Park protects the lower third of the Catoctin Mountain chain. The Catoctin Trail, one of Maryland's premiere long-distance footpaths, begins here. The park and its trails date back to civic-minded residents of Frederick, Maryland, who bought the land for protection and recreation.
