Cedarville State Forest
Cedarville State Forest protects Zekiah Swamp Run ranked Maryland's most ecological diverse stream, notable for its rare and endangered plants. From its source in a moist bog of sphagnum moss, the stream moves sluggishly under a canopy of maples, sweetgum, and river birch. At its source grows the carnivorous roundleaf sundew and the northern pitcher plant.
