Rocky Canyon Road
Boise, ID

Rocky Canyon Road
Boise Front foothills, east of downtown Boise. This is some of the prettiest terrain in the Boise Front. For most of the way, the road is followed by Cottonwood Creek; you're seldom more than a stone's throw from the water. Climbing-quality crags (up to about 100 vertical feet) seem to jump out at you. at Aldape Summit, you are at the treeline (where the conifers start, not stop). You might even nurture the fantasy (as you smell the firs) that you are in the Pacific Northwest.
