Canfield: Cave Trail Loop
Northeast of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at the western edge of the Coeur d'Alene Mountains. Consider this short loop an introduction to the Canfield Mountain Trail System. Like the singletrack section of this loop, most of the trails in the system are on the technical side of the spectrum. Familiarity helps a lot. The trail system map is an excellent color topo in small scale; major junctions are posted on site and are referenced on the map. This trail system should also be recognized for the rare and highly successful community effort that has coalesced motorheads, pedalers, and the Forest Service to create an intensely used multi-use area close to the city.
