Bear Hair Gap Trail
Vogel State Park, located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest, is one of Georgia’s oldest and most popular facilities. The Bear Hair Gap Trail is the easier of the two routes in Vogel State Park featured in this book (see also Coosa Bald), and is best suited for a day-hiker or anyone out for a leisurely afternoon with their dog. The Bear Hair Gap Trail begins and ends in Vogel State Park. Because it is a loop hike, the trail can be hiked in either direction. However, most hikers prefer traveling the Bear Hair Gap Trail counterclockwise.
