Woody Creek
A backpack up the Woody Creek valley and then following the Hunter Creek divide. The Woody Creek Trail follows a steep and timbered canyon above the former mining town of Lenado, then climbs up to the Hunter Creek divide before dropping westward to join the Hunter Creek Trail. The trail is faint in places above its ford of the headwaters of Woody Creek, and map and compass skills are required to link up with the Hunter Creek Trail for longer backpacks. The lower reaches of Woody Creek feature some steep talus slopes that discourage horse traffic.
