Wilson Mesa Loop Trail
With the grandeur of Wilson Peak, rushing rivers and waterfalls, and a carnival of diverse wildflowers, this trail provides a wonderfully colorful day trip. Just southwest of Telluride, this is yet another breathtaking hike to add to the area’s repertoire already rife with outdoor treasures. Wilson Peak looms close by, and dazzling waterfalls and gushing creeks soothe our senses for much of the way. The hike takes us through pine and aspen forests, past Wilson Peak, over a pleasant creek to the remains of an old mine and its shaft and railway, before winding through absurdly beautiful meadows of flowers.
