West Loop Trail
If you want an easy mountain biking or walking option with lots of shade in the thick “black” forest, this is a good one. You will enjoy rolling hills, thick fragrant Ponderosa pines, and a view or two of Pikes Peak to the south. It is also possible, if you look carefully, to see red foxes, mule deer, Steller’s jays, mountain chickadees, and nuthatches.
