Waterton Canyon Recreation Area: Waterton Canyon Trail
Waterton Canyon serves as a trailhead for the 475-mile-long Colorado Trail. This is a long walk south to the Durango area, yet Waterton Canyon allows hikers to walk as far as they please and turn around. The featured hike travels 4 miles into the canyon as it follows the South Platte River into the mountains. This user-friendly hike is an enjoyable outing.
