Wall Lake Loop Trail
This epic loop is nestled in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, the second largest wilderness area in the state. Highlighting the unique Flat Tops landscape is an enormous plateau that was sculpted by a long-ago ice age. The hike begins at Trappers Lake, crosses through three massive valleys, descends through a long, cliff-enclosed valley, and climbs up onto one of the massive flattop mountains. How’s that for a full day? There are two beautiful lakes that offer great camping and fishing, and the soft sounds of creeks making up the headwaters of the White River. If these laurels aren’t enough, the hike also boasts some of the most brilliant and abundant wildflowers we have ever seen. Plan to visit in the spring when the flowers are dressed to the nines.
