Walker Ranch Trail
Eldorado Springs, CO

Walker Ranch Trail
This beautiful, rugged foothills area features high ridges and a beautiful canyon with sparkling Boulder Creek running through it. The ranch is almost 3778 acres—more than 1000 acres were scorched in the Eldorado fire, but the vegetation was generally reinvigorated by it. It features the mountain version of sparkling Boulder Creek, old ranch homestead buildings, and a dazzling display of wildflowers, ponderosa pines, and wildlife. The ranch is a premiere mountain biking area and a superb hiking environment. If you’re a hiker who wants to avoid bikers, visit during the week or be prepared to dodge lots of biking enthusiasts. If you’re a biker, be prepared for some challenging, technical terrain. Experiencing the entire loop is a delightful challenge at a fast pace on foot. You can enjoy very nice out-and-back hikes down to the creekside canyon from either the South Boulder Creek (or nearby Ethel Harrold Trailhead) or Crescent Meadows Trailhead. Or you can hike all the way over from Eldorado Canyon State Park and use a car shuttle or enjoy a nice bike-free out-and-back adventure.
