Ute / Range View Loop
From the east side of Flagstaff Mountain the panorama of the high plains, painted with the sprawling handiwork of man, spreads to the horizon. On the west side of the mountain the wildness of the snowy Indian Peaks, and the steep forested mountains that rise before them, stretches to the sky. This easy, well-maintained path offers thought-provoking looks at the complex urban / wildland interface as it circles the summit of one of Boulder's landmarks. This is an ideal hike for children, because it's not that difficult, the views are spectacular and the flora, fauna and geology of the area are described on interpretive signs along the trail.
