Twin Rock Trail
The Twin Rock Trail is a fairly new trail in Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. It’s a gentle hike through ponderosa pine forests and open meadows so scenic you might wonder where the buffalo are. The trail meanders through old ranch lands and across an ancient lakebed. It then turns east and follows an unnamed stream to South Twin Rock. This part of the trail wanders along a riparian area, past open meadows, through a beautiful aspen grove, and past several other rock formations. Summer brings a profusion of wild flowers.
