Trap Park
From cool fir forest to a sun-filled valley with abundant water and wildflowers, surrounded by the Neota Wilderness, this hike has it all. This quiet valley offers opportunities for backcountry camping in an open meadow, with views of Iron and Flattop mountains and Trap Creek whispering in the background.Moose and other wildlife frequently can be seen. The trail travels up the valley to the boundary of the Neota Wilderness Area, which encompasses the upper valley and ridges along both sides but excludes the valley floor. The views are impressive after the first mile, so shorter hikes are still worthwhile. The Long Draw Road is closed in winter, so enjoy this hike between June and October.
