Towhee and Homestead Trails
This gentle loop captures the best of Colorado’s foothills in a single sweep. From tumbling nourishment provided to the prairie by South Boulder Creek, to the rustic shelter of the historic Doudy-Debacker-Dunn House, to the wildness of the overgrown thickets of lower Shadow Canyon, the trail encapsulates both the natural and manmade history of the area. The red rock portals of Eldorado Canyon, which rise to the west, give this adventure a distinctive Boulder twist.
