Thompson Mountain
This adventurous hike makes a loop on both new trails and old dirt, non-motorized ranch roads through part of the Deer Haven Ranch. Most of the trail is obvious, but some sections are marked by flags or trail markers. Follow the directions carefully. The trail winds through ponderosa pines, Douglas firs, and meadows. Open areas provide nice views of Pikes Peak and the Sangre de Cristo Range.
