Thomas Lakes
This scenic trail offers sweeping vistas of the Roaring Fork Valley and a close-up of Mount Sopris, the 12,953-foot peak that dominates the local landscape. Sopris and the fishfilled lakes at its base are in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness but, typical of roadless areas, most of the trail’s superb wildlife habitat isn’t within the wilderness boundary.
