The North Fork of Clear Creek
Buena Vista, CO

The North Fork of Clear Creek
This easy hike follows a remote, open valley flanked by impressive peaks. Although it is close to the ghost town of Winfield, the North Fork of Clear Creek is relatively obscure and receives lighter visitation than the South Fork. This is a pleasant ramble that leads nowhere in particular; the trail becomes progressively more primitive as it continues up the valley and peters out entirely at the timberline. The trailless upper reaches of the basin are suitable for cross-country exploration.
