The Grottos Loop Trail
The Roaring Fork River takes a playful route just 10 miles south of Aspen. At The Grottos, it pools and spills over smoothly sculpted boulders, forming quiet wading waters and a beach for sand castle building. Adult supervision is required at all times here as there are no guardrails to prevent falls into the boulders or the roaring river. Also, plan to visit this popular site mid-week to avoid added impact to the area.
