The Colorado Trail: Bolam Pass Road to Hotel Draw
This segment of the CT continues to follow the high ground between major drainages, offering excellent viewing opportunities. In this segment, the drainages are Hermosa Creek to the south and east and the Dolores River to the north and west. It is beautiful, lonely country, staying well above 11,000 feet until after Blackhawk Pass. There are no long climbs or descents. Straight Creek, south of Blackhawk Pass, is the last reliable source of water on the CT for the next 20 miles. Plan accordingly.
