This pleasant trail follows a staircase pattern, climbing then leveling off in forests of aspen, lodgepole, and spruce, and ending at Surprise Lake. Meadows, beautifully peppered with wildflowers, make a colorful destination for little hikers eager to walk 1 mile only.
