Sunny Aspen Loop
This loop wanders through the forests of a history-rich former ranch. Don't expect to come across unusual wildlife forms as you hike this route however-instead of elephants and lions, the park is inhabited by the usual assortment of tassel-eared Abert squirrels, mule deer, and an occasional elk. You'll gain a bit of altitude, and so earn views across the wide Highway 285 corridor. But it is the forests that give this hike its distinctive flavor, from the quiet of the lodgepoles to the chattering old-growth aspen that give this hike its name.
