Spruce Mountain Loop
Spruce Mountain is a forested island in the sky rimmed with rock ledges. Views include Pikes Peak, Cheyenne Mountain, the old Greenland Ranch, thousands of acres of protected Douglas County Open Space, and points north to Longs Peak. Numerous view opportunities lie along the south rim, culminating at Windy Point on the southwest end. You can circle the top of Spruce Mountain or drop down and finish the hike around the north end of this pleasant mesa between the prairie and the foothills.
