South Willow Creek (Mesa Cortina)
This popular trail offers vistas of Lake Dillon, the Breckenridge ski area and Blue River Valley, and provides access to the Gore Range. It undulates over moderate hills as it alternates between open meadows and old-growth forest. After it enters the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area, it climbs and eventually crosses other trails. The trail is surrounded by housing development, a common phenomenon in Colorado that concerns wildlife experts.
