South Valley Park Loop
This short and easy loop takes you past towering rock formations created from erosion of the Ancestral Rocky Mountains. Early Native Americans created shelters under overhanging rocks. While hiking along, use your imagination to find various shapes in the red towers. Golden eagles and cliff swallows find nesting sites on rock ledges, where white droppings betray their homes. Several interpretive signs explain the park’s natural features and geologic history.
