South Pine Creek
This primitive trail links the valleys of Frenchman Creek and Pine Creek via a high pass beside Mount Harvard. The route finding can be difficult in places: The trail is often faint or even nonexistent, and there are long stretches where cairns do not mark the way. Hardy souls who pass this way will enjoy alpine meadows, sweeping views of the peaks, and a wealth of historical ruins that date back to the heyday of silver mining. Hike this trail from the Frenchman Creek side to avoid the steep and grueling climb out of the Pine Creek valley.
