Sneffels High Line
Although you would never know it by looking at the Uncompahgre National Forest map, a number of interesting trails explore the rugged mountain slopes north of Telluride. Perhaps the most intriguing route is the Sneffels High Line Trail. Completed in the summer of 1990, this loop trail connects several older routes with newly constructed sections to climb steeply above timberline. Traversing two alpine basins, this hike reveals some beguiling views along the way.
