Silver Creek Trail
Silver Creek Trail starts out on closed logging roads, rising slightly to the Sarvis Creek Wilderness boundary. From here the trail mostly heads downhill, with a few uphills for variety. Silver Creek is a sparkling, crystal clear stream, very worthy of its name. Interesting granite formations appear occasionally on the north side of the trail. Lodgepole pine, Englemann spruce, subalpine fir, aspen, and eventually ponderosa pine trees line the trail. This area is great for a quiet getaway, except during hunting season, which starts at the end of August.
