Scott Gomer Trail and Abyss Lake Trail
This hike goes to Abyss Lake, a tarn tucked away in a high glacial cirque between Mount Bierstadt, the sawtooth ridge, and Mount Evans. On the way you may encounter bighorn sheep and mountain goats so keep your dog on a leash, required by wilderness regulations. From the trailhead, begin hiking northeast on the Scott Gomer Trail that follows Scott Gomer Creek and has several stream crossings, mostly over rocks and logs.
