Sawyer Lake
This trail crosses rolling, timbered country that bears the marks of nineteenth-century logging to reach a subalpine lake. The hike begins on an old jeep trail that runs southeast across Twin Meadows. You will enjoy fine views of several high peaks until the trail enters the trees. It then bends westward, crossing the numerous brooks that feed into Twin Meadows from the south. The path rounds the swampy upper end of the clearing, then crosses a grassy glade to enter a Douglas fir forest.
