Sarvis Creek
Steamboat Springs, CO

Sarvis Creek
Spanning the width of the Sarvis Creek Wilderness Area, the Sarvis Creek Trail offers an excellent introduction to the northern portion of the Gore Range. Gentle in comparison to the southern half, this end of the Gores manifests as rolling mountains covered with timberlands. The Sarvis Creek Trail begins by following the right side of its namesake through an interesting little canyon. Spruce and fir trees are common, as are lodgepole pines. Some aspens are also encountered as the trail gains about 800 feet in the first 1.5 miles along easy-to-moderate grades.
