Roxborough State Park: South Rim Trail
Roxborough State Park is a Colorado Natural Area and a National Natural Landmark. The park offers two main hiking areas: Fountain Valley and South Rim. The Fountain Valley Trail has a dramatic trailhead and a big parking lot. The South Rim Trail has the same scenery and fewer people. The remarkable geology of this area is largely represented by the Fountain Formation. These red rocks jettison from the earth, erupting from the green valley.
