Rocky Mountain National Park: Gem Lake Trail
Gem Lake, if you’ll pardon the pun, is a jewel. Located on the eastern edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, this trailhead is one of the closest to the town of Estes Park. The aspen trees will be green in summer, bare in winter, and golden in the fall. For the best fall colors, time your hike around the last two weeks of September.
